    As a class leader, I ensured that the ideas and problems of the teacher will be heard and evaluated in meetings with the administration. I also ensured that all educational material was printed and available in a timely manner to support teachers in each content area.

    SETSS Teacher Contracted to the ICAHN Charter School 

    May 2014 - June 2014

    I worked with special education students in a small classroom, 5-7 grades. Conducted individual conversations with students on how to do their homework and consolidate concepts learned at school; created interactive, practical, and motivating lessons based on each student's goals.

    March 2011 - June 2011

    Substituted in Pre-K to 12th-grade classrooms with emotionally disabled students. Supported teachers in all aspects of classroom preparation, teaching, and management. Conducted small group lessons and worked one-on-one with students.

SpeakFirst Middle School Coach

I’ve been lucky to work as a middle school debate coach in a Birmingham city school during my year of service with Impact Alabama. I worked with my co-coaches twice a week for an academic year, creating and implementing lesson plans for 12 middle school students.

Miller Writing Center Tutor

The Miller Writing Center is a part of Auburn’s Office of University Writing’s initiative. It is focused on increasing the quality of students’ writing. To achieve that, MWC tutors don’t simply edit the papers, but interact with students one-on-one to guide them.
